Sheffield-Bochum Projekt - Strengthening the partnership between two cities.

Final-year German for Enterprise students at the University of Sheffield are working in conjunction with Sheffield City Council and Stadt Bochum to put together an interesting and informative website which will focus on strengthening the partnership between the two cities. The twinning link between Sheffield and Bochum was first established in 1950, a link which brought together two cities that pride themselves on industry, culture and education. Our ultimate goal is to offer accessible, easy-to-understand information across both languages to promote the many possibilities and opportunities that twinning offers, including potential business links, cultural and educational exchanges and prospective tourism in the wider regions. We hope that both sites will act as a first port of call for any interested parties, and we aim to create a modern, eye-catching web page to replace the existing links and further spark people's interest in the partnership.
If you would like to get more involved in this project, or simply want more information, please do not hesitate to get in touch via our e-mail ( We would be very keen to hear from you about any previous or current involvement in similar partnership projects or exchange arrangements.
